I remember being little.

When the heat would come down on us, drenching Houston with the muggy blanket of summer, I would put on my little sunny swimsuit and wait in anticipation to go to my grandma's house. It was a weekly treat once school ended. My father would take me and my little brother to her house while he went to work.

I remember peeking over the door of my dad's Honda, and straining against my booster seat to see the first glimpse of the little white house and the chili shaped Christmas lights that lined the gutters.
